I've Got Mail....

The first thing I do when I arrive at the office is open my computer and check emails thru Outlook. It is normal to see unread messages since other offices start at 8am (my shift is from 9am-6:30pm)

Some of my friends from the Philippines know my work email. Sometimes, they would send me forwarded emails which I don't give much attention. Sometimes, we would chat via email a little, just a little whenever we're not busy. There's a 4-hour difference between Dubai and Phil so it's very seldom we could find time to do this plus these friends of mine are all accountants and are all workaholics (whether they like it or they like it). I was like one of them before. Now, I consider myself one lucky person working in Dubai for i am not required to do overtime at work and i do not feel oblige either. This is the one thing i really appreciate here- 'what happens in the office, stays in the office'. :-)

Going back to my subject. This morning, I received an email from MC (my bestfriend in college). She's trying to hook me to read 'The Vampire Academy' series- her current favourite readings. She's really going gaga over this vampire thing. This is actually the 3rd time she 'promoted' the series to me. According to her, the series has 6 books. She has already 5 and the 6th is yet to be released in 2012!

MC and I both love reading! We are both certified addict! We could happily live in this world just by reading. One of our favourite hangouts back in college is actually a bookstore (National Bookstore SM Sta Mesa, Recto, Grand Central). It's also not surprising that we would always pick a bookstore for our meet-ups after office (National Bookstore Robinsons Galleria & Glorietta and Powerbooks SM Megamall). In fact, on my vacation last May 09, we did not forget to visit National Bookstore SM Mall of Asia. She gave me two novels (Angels and Demons & Thanks for the Memories) as a presents to bring with me to Dubai. :-)

One weekend (after a grueling exam), I invited MC to our house in the province to take some breather. Guess what was our idea of fun??? a reading marathon and chit chat in between. :-) I really miss those days. Since MC & I are going to Bohol on my vacation, i'm thinking to bring some books---i can imagine ourselves reading books while sipping fresh coconut juice in a hammock @ Panglao Beach Resort! Whooah! That would be a perfect getaway for us two. :-)

MC can be a 'makulit' whenever she feels like it. She had noticed i was not interested in this 'The Vampire Academy' series for i'd always tell her i will try to look for it. In her email today, she made sure i will no longer have an excuse this time. She had downloaded the books and sent them all to me! Very clever of her. :-)

I finally gave in. I printed 20 pages of book 1 (out of total 260 pages), i plan to read them this weekend. i also might look for a copy in the bookstore. And if in the coming days i'm acting some kind of strange, it only means i got officially recruited in the 'Vampire world' :-)
