After years of waiting and praying, I got what my heart desires---that is a CANADA VISA. I was really bursting with joy and happiness upon receiving the good news. Before this, I already convinced myself that maybe it's not meant for me. I waited long enough. What is important is I gave my best effort. And so I planned my repatriation in 2013. Only to find out that instead of going home, i'll be migrating to another soon-to-be home.:-)
I already informed my bosses about my plan so we can have a smooth transition. I love my job and officemates. I am willing to adjust for the sake of them. We agree I would finish 2012 audit which is expected to be mid-Mar 2013. They too, are willing to adjust for me. They have allowed me to take my annual leave this Oct 2012.
Important Dates:
Oct 4-Nov 2, 2012 - vacation leave (stopover Singapore & Malaysia; Phils)
Feb 15, 2013 - resignation date
Mar 15, 2013 - effectivity of resignation
Mar 22-30, 2013 - visa cancellation; go back to Phils
Mar 31, 2013 - my 1st birthday in Phils after more than 7 years working abroad!
Apr 12, 2013 - the beginning of a new journey to Canada
Now that my plans are laid out, a feeling of sadness envelopes me. I will miss everything and everyone here in Dubai. I imagined that it is going to be a happy farewell for me but now I feel otherwise. I don't even want to think about it (but it's a must for better planning). I just hate goodbyes. :-(
Enough of my melancholic mood. I just finished reading again for the nth time "The Alchemist" by Paolo Coehlo. I would like to think i'm just like the boy in the book who knows his 'personal legend' and will do everything in order to achieve it. :-)
With this, I will end this post with my favourite lines in the book "If what one finds is made of pure matter, it will never spoil. and one can always come back. If what you had found was only a moment of light, like the explosion of a star, you would find nothing on your return."
