The Ring Bearer...

Frodo: I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.
Gandalf: So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil.

-The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

No, this is not about the ring that Mr. Frodo protected in the movie The Lord of the Rings. But rather about the wedding ring of Jo which was temporarily (& circumstantially) entrusted to me. As a ring bearer, I would like to have my own statement too. :-)

Me: This had been my wish for Jo all along that is, to finally meet her destiny and live happily ever after (like a fairy tale noh?). Jo's the kindest person I know, the most sensible, the simplest amongst all of my friends. She's a good person inside and out. She deserves every good things that's happening in her life.

....And I really really miss her so much! Jo's in the other part of the world right now. Just before her wedding on 18th Sep 2010, her application for immigrant visa was granted. (she's partly the reason why me & ID decided to apply also. well, walang iwanan ang drama namin).

I got to talk to her today, thanks YM. lol. And I told her, "Balik ka na dito sa Dubai, ang gulo na ng cabinet natin. Wala nang tagatupi ng damit dito. hehe" (nagpipinaw kasi ako ng mga nilabhan kong damit kahapon habang kausap ko cia) To this she said, "Kayang-kaya mo yan! ikaw pa!"

She did not bring the ring with her for safety reason (of the ring). She asked me to safeguard the ring round the clock. She has no idea that I'm now blogging her wedding ring. Hahaha.

Jo will be going back to Philippines next week. Her fiance, GD (who's currently on official business trip), will also be in the Philippines. Well, he must be there since that's the official date of his 'Pamamanhikan' or 'Paghingi ng kamay'.

Jo told me that she has a stopover for 8 hours in Dubai. We might see each other but only in the airport & that is if she's even be allowed to go to the airport lobby! She has no Dubai visa now. I was kind of worried for her long waiting hours. But thanks to his prince charming/fiance. It turns out that they had planned their flights so well. Both are already booked in the same flight (DXB-MNL). They will just meet in the Airport. :-)

The Ring Snapshots

the couple had visited almost all the gold souks here in Dubai

before they finally settle for this ring. :-)

Jo's really hands-on on the design of their wedding rings

their wedding date: 09.18.10

unlike the other wedding rings,
their names are engraved on both rings
