Kablogs - a Blocked Site in the UAE via Du

I brought my laptop with me when I visited my friend's place in Mirdiff. I had this 'just-in-case-i-need-it' mind set-up. Although, i knew all along that there would be a slim chance i would be needing it. (remember, i was still on my drama mode during this time hence, all i wanna do is do nothing)

Just so I can give justice to my stubborness, i opened my laptop on Thursday (Nov 18) and surf the net. I logged-in to my blogger account with an intention of visiting blogs that i follow. Since the other blogs are not yet on my blogroll (simply because i don't know how to add them, i'll try again & do my very best next time), i clicked my Kablogs logo where I could easily get an access of the other blogsites.

But I was shocked and suprised when I got this message "Surf Safely! This website is not accessible in the UAE". This could not be possible i said to myself. Thinking i did not click the right website, i double checked again. And it is confirmed, Kablogs is a blocked site in the UAE via Du. (our Internet Service provider here at home is Etisalat). I immediately reported my concern to Du. Got the below auto-reply email from them. I'm hoping they would really give immediate attention to it.

social networking sites were once blocked in the UAE

websites with contents/words like sex, dating etc...

(any word that they'd find malicious) are surely BLOCKED

i'm in favor of blocking those sites that aren't useful to one's mind

pero wag naman po ang Kablogs pls-

kaligayahan ko ito bilang Filipino blogger sa UAE :-)
